For Visiting Researchers

Rockefeller Wildlife Refuge (RWR) seeks to provide an "outdoor laboratory" for high quality wildlife, fisheries, and wetlands research. Since the 1950s, RWR has collaborated with numerous governmental and academic researchers from Louisiana, the United States, and beyond. If you desire a field site to conduct research in coastal Louisiana, RWR may be the place for you. To conduct research at RWR, download a copy of the research request below and follow submission instructions.
Even though RWR is a remote field location, there are many on-site "amenities" for visiting researchers. These include on-site housing for visiting researchers, laundry and kitchen facilities, and WiFi internet connection in the refuge dormitory. Depending on availability, researchers may be able to stay on-site for extended periods of time for their research (1-3 months). Even with these on-site facilities, there are some logistical complexities that researchers need to be aware of before they commit to researching or staying at RWR (see Visiting Researcher Information link below). If you would like more information about conducting research at RWR, please contact RWR office.
